Hikaru stayed silent as he lead the way to his brother's dorm, his eyes fixed on the ground, watching how his feet moved by itself towards that same old dorm room he lived in for 2 years...well, was. It surprises him to see that he's still walking...still moving..still growing. Hikaru had the weirdest dream when he was a child that he's going to die at 15, and the child inwardly chuckled at the memory. Of how his chibi-self tearfully ran inside his brother's room, and got a nice smack behind the head for believing something so stupid.
That dream made him realized however, of how blessed he is to have what he has. To be thankful on every little thing that decorated his life. To enjoy each and every opportunity that offers. ...To try and grab the goodness of life to the extent of his reach...each and every day. He had tried explaining it to his brother, but Zeph never did understand...
Hikaru glanced at the silver-haired a bit, silently wishing he could see what his brother's thinking. On his 15th birthday, he did literally ran into Zeph's room, happily announcing that he's not dead yet...and like he expected, got the same smack behind the head for the same reason as 7 years ago. Hikaru smiled. For right before he's been smacked, he vaguely saw Zeph holding their family picture, staring at it, longingly to remember.
Hikaru reached for the keys inside his pocket, unlock his brother's front door and carefully lead Zeph and Kida into the dark room. His free hand rubbing the wall in search of the light switch before turning the lights on. The redhead sighed in relief to see the dorm room just the way he left it, and especially happy to see both Zi-Fi and Ryo, his brother's puppy and fire-lizard, are soundly asleep on the far end of the couch, cuddled together.
He then lead Zeph onto that same couch, and slowly puts his brother there, careful not to wake him up, and steps back as Zeph settles himself on the couch, retracting his legs and make himself comfortable. Both the two pets on the far end of the couch woke up all of a sudden, and seeing their owner back, they slowly made their way under Zeph's arms, fitting themselves into his warmth.
Hikaru can't help smiling at the adorable scene. Zeph hugging his two pets...sleeping. It's just too cute! Scratching the back of his head as he stretched, the redhead then remembered Kida. He turned to Kida for a while, then rushed to the kitchen. The shuffling sound in the kitchen only lasted for about a minute when Hikaru returns to the living room, pulls Kida's arm into the kitchen, and pulled a chair of Zeph's small dinner table, motioning Kida to sit.
On the table, is a cheap roll of bread, with a mug of warm coffee, steam is still coming off from it. Hikaru sat at the opposite side of Kida's seat, with a notebook and a pen on his side of the table. He reached the pen with his left hand and wrote something on it, now it became apparent that he's a lefty. When he holds the notebook vertically for her to read, 'THANK YOU' and flashes one of his bright smiles at her once again.

A relieved sigh was cut off when Kida noticed that Zeph wasn't the only one on the couch. A puppy and a fire lizard, who had apparently been there already, crawled to snuggle Zeph. It was sort of a peculiar sight. One, because she hadn't pictured Zephel as a cuddly-type, and two because even if he was Kida didn't think he often showed it to people he'd just met.
Thankfully the presence of another fire lizard didn't rouse Bec, who had again burrowed deep in her pocket. Kida was pretty sure the little guy was pissed off at her for the bumpy ride, she'd have to remember to pick him up a special treat as compensation.
"Hey, you know--" What Kida had been about to whisper was cut off by her surprise at Hikaru suddenly tugging her to the kitchen. She blinked down at a mug of coffee and roll of bread. Her stomach took that exact moment to growl of course, so she had to sit down. "You're welcome, Hikaru. I couldn't leave you guys after that."
She took a sip of the coffee, not something she normally drank, but honestly loved the beverage at that moment. "Thanks for this." She broke the roll in half and offered him one. "You've got to be hungry too."

Hikaru shook his head at the bread offer, flips another page of the book before writing something on it and shows it to Kida. 'No, thanks. I have a broken jaw, remember?' The redhead sweatdropped, flipped another page, and scribbled.
'I'll be waiting till nii-san wakes up to fix my jaw.' He smiled, eyes the coffee mug brewing there, then stands up to get himself a bottle of mineral water or something. Anything he could find inside his brother's fridge. He later comes back at the table with a bottle of water, and a straw.
'I'm sorry you gotta go through all these things, Kida-san. It's all basically my fault.' He showed his handwriting to her, puts the notebook down, clasps his hands together in front of her, and slightly bows in apology. That huge red pair of goggles that decorated his thick red hair slightly shines by the faint light of the kitchen.

"Err...." Duh, Kida. "Sorry, I forgot..." Ish, what a time to forget it too. Kida rolled her neck, sighing when it cracked and loosened some of the tension there. She sipped the coffee again and resisted the urge to release another as the hot liquid slid down her throat. Glancing back at Zephel's sleeping form on the couch, Kida spoke quietly so as to not disturb him.
"Your brother's a doctor or a healer then? That's handy." Perhaps there was some sort of class here for that. Kida might have seen one on the registry and skipped it out of habit, but it seemed more necessary now that it had at the time.
"Fault? It's not your fault, Hikaru. Why would you even think that?" Kida chewed a bit of bread and watched him with a tilted head.

Hikaru blinked at Kida, the strangely stares at her for a while, before scribbling with his pen again. 'Nii-san never likes healing.' He explained through his handwriting, then continued on the same page, 'He was forced to study bone-healing since I came along.'
With a sweatdrop, Hikaru blushed at hos embarrassing this is to explain his...'downfall'. He took his time flipping to the other page of his notebook to write some more. His mineral water remained untouched beside his busy left arm. 'It IS my fault, Kida-san. I don't know why, but the others said that since the day that I first breathe, bad things happened around me.' He paused his writing to let Kida read, to cautiously stare at the faint lightbulb that's beginning to darken above the dinner table...and sighed as the light died after a while, leaving them under the dark.
Hikaru lights up himself, glowing up the room with both his light and his smile. Taking back the notebook, he only took a few seconds to write this: 'I'm a jinx.'

Kida watched as Hikaru's hand raced across the page, only catching some of the words as they were upside down. Munching some more bread she read when he showed her the notebook. "I don't like it either, but let's face the fact that it can come in handy." she smirked. "Zeph's probably thankful he knows now, if even just a little bit. Don't worry about it."
As the redhead started writing again, Kida drained her mug of coffee. Maybe it was about time she made regular visits to the coffee shop down the street. "Hmn?" she mumbled with a bit more bread in her mouth as she noticed Hikaru showing her the rest of his message. Kida found herself squinting at the paper to read because it was steadily getting darker. What the... Then it went dark entirely. "Mmphmph?"
She winced, not expecting Hikaru's own personal glow, but adjusted and swallowed. "Oh, come off it, you're not a jinx." Kida realized her volume had jumped back up to normal, glanced at Zephel on the couch and whispered fervently back to Hikaru. "Whoever these 'others' are, they're not very smart. There's no way you're causing this stuff to happen--That kind of stuff runs in families, if you were one Zeph would be one too, right? Besides, there's nothing unusual about a light bulb going out, or accidents happening, or running into annoying people you know."
"That kind of stuff happens everyday, Hikaru, don't read much into it."

Hikaru frowned, stood up, and watch just in time as the chair he was sitting on broke down. The redhead stared aphetetically at it, bend his body to write something on his notebook, and shows Kida. 'Whatever you say, Kida-san. If you want more coffee, just tell me. And allow me to accompany you back to your dorm, okay?'
The child smiled at her. He's pretty tired himself frankly, but he can't just let Kida go out alone, even when the sun's beginning to rise. Zeph may never taught him about this, but it's against Hikaru's principle to just leave a lady like that, but... 'I wanna help you, but I'm kinda scared if my bad luck will rub onto you too.' He sweatdropped, scratching his cheek a bit.

Kida jumped when Hikaru's chair broke. Eyes wide, she blink at it once, twice. "....uh........that's......just a coincidence...." Though she had to say the timing of the chair ka-putting was freaky at best. Of all the things Kida had seen or read about Jinxs just didn't seem probable. She didn't know why, it just didn't. So there. she told the chill up her spine--which had to be from exhaustion, she added.
"No thanks, Hikaru." Kida stood and stretched. "You just hit the sack, I can make it to my dorm alright. Promise." Patting his shoulder she made her way towards the door, looking back at Zephel for a moment as she went. "Tell 'im I said 'Thanks' too, kay? Oh and, 'Make sure you don't have a concussion'." She recalled with a wince everything that had happened to Zephel while he'd been passed out. As if that hadn't been bad enough, he'd regained consciousness only to be greeted by Reinhardt. Kida couldn't imagine Zeph to have liked that very much.
"I'll probably be seeing you guys around, Hikaru. Take it easy, alright? And thanks again for the coffee and stuff." Kida opened the door and turned to wave.

Hikaru frowned again as Kida passed his offer, but her promise calms him, so he forces a smile. The child then nodded his head at the messages he's supposed to tell his brother once he wakes up, but before Kida left, Hikaru quickly rushes to her, digs something inside his pocket, and gives Kida something.
Once he opened his fingers, it became apparent that he's giving Kida a four-leaf clover...
'For luck. And as a thank you gift.' He mouthed, having no notebooks to write on since he left it on the table. He didn't even wait for Kida to take it as he just shove it in her pocket, where her fire-lizard is. Of course, Hikaru has no clue of this, and fortunately, he didn't shove it too deep to accidentally squish it. But he did felt it.
Jumping back at what he just touched, the redhead looks up at Kida, expressing his surprise.

Chuckling quietly, Kida gently patted her pocket, careful not to jostle Bec. She could feel him squirm, shift and give a little huff of annoyance. Poor guy, Kida knew how he felt. All he wanted to do was sleep and it seemed like the universe just wouldn't let him. "Yeah, he's still there. Still grumpy too." Kida said quietly.
Carefully she fished the four-leaf clover from where it lay and brought it out in her hand. "Normally I would argue you about taking this, but I'm about to pass out like Zeph so I'll just put it in this pocket," Another pocket that didn't contain a ferocious little fire lizard that might tear it, "...And I'll argue with you about it later." She chuckled.
"Thanks, Hikaru. Have a good night." Kida gave him a thumbs up and left. It was a short ride down the elevator, a walk across the street and then another elevator ride (a long one this time) up to her room.

Hikaru's expression almost dropped at Kida's initial disapproval of the clover, but smiled widely as she puts it in her other pocket. The redhead continuously nod his head as Kida left with a thumbs up. He just stood by the door as he watched Kida left and takes a turn for the elevator.
Once she's out from his view, Hikaru let out a silent inner chuckle at himself for the fact that the whole catastrophe he single-handedly caused actually grants him a new ally. And a trustworthy one too. Still chuckling, the redhead then entered his brother's dorm, closing the door behind him slowly, wishing that every bad luck he ventured through every day would grant him a new friend like Kida.-End Thread-
