Kieru walked through the secluded forest. She held her sword in her hands as she stepped slowly around the trees, practicing stances. After every few steps, she spun slightly to attack a tree. She continued on for a while until something caught her eye.
What was that shadow in the dark of the midday forest? More shadows? ....... Oh crap. Kieru slowly stepped back, seeing the shadows stalking towards her. Her eyes widened and she turned, knowing her strength was too low to fight these creatures though not exactly certain if she was well enough to even outrun then, whatever they are.
Kieru ran as fast and as hard as she could. She saw a break of light, this might be good. She ran out into the light, seeing a rather large clearing. 'Oh great, my death bed.' She thought annoyedly as she ran out into the center of the clearing anyway. She looked up for a moment as though hoping someone might see her and see the threat slowly approaching her from the woods in front of her.
She held her sword in a defensive mode as the six large leopards stalked towards her. She took in a deep breath, knowing she wouldn't be able to handle them by herself. She slowly stepped backwards as they slowly stalked towards her, ready to attack her at any moment.

"Zephel?" Orphion's sharp eyes managed to caught sight of a human running into a clearing of a forest they're passing. Zeph rolled his eyes as he looked downwards, now seeing what's the problem.
"I think you should--"
"Yeah, yeah. I know. Don't bother dropping me off to death, I'll do it to myself." The silver-haired sighed before pulling up one leg to the other side of Orphion, equipped the goggles in his eyes, and then slipped off Orphion. 'Why am I always the guy who dived to his doom to save one--'
Zeph paused his thought as he unsheates his sword, swings it to the ground, created a large current of air to soften his landing, and he's on the ground after a few airflips with a sword in hand. "Wow. I didn't cut off any limbs this time." He said in surprise after those flips.
He's quite a distance away from Kieru and the leopards, so he just simply took a deep breath and stabbed his sword as strong as he can towards the ground, raising the ground where Kieru's standing into this high pillar where the leopards can't reach her. The element-wielder fell to his knees right after that, just noticing he has used a lot of his energy by the elements.
"Right." Zeph took out Maki's energy potion, only that he meliorated the potion bottle squeezable, so he can easily use it when in times of danger...like now. After swallowing a few drops, he stood up, fully recharged, and pulled out his weapon from the ground with a dry smile. The leapoards saw him now, as they all charged up towards him at full speed.

"Wah..." Kieru uttered, crouching down to place her hand on the ground to steady herself as she was raised onto a pillar of ground, her sword still in her other hand. She saw the leopards moving around the pillar she was on and chasing after someone else now. She turned to see who it was, recognizing a familiar silver haired boy she had fought with before at the catacombs.
She silently cursed herself for her weakened state, causing trouble to this person. She put her sword away and pulled out her staff. If she couldn't fight directly, at least she could distract some of the leopards from charging at him all at once. She stood in a crouched stance on the pillar, her staff held behind her as if ready to jump off and help him fight them if need be.
She waited for a few minutes to see what would happen, not wanting to leave him on his own against all six of them but knowing that if he were able to take them all on his own, she in her weakened state would only be a bother.

Zeph didn't even took a stance as he just stood there, staring sharply at the charging leopards through the goggles on his eyes with his sword on his shoulder. Orphion watched from above, blocking the sun from reaching the clearing where his rider is, knowing full well when it comes to animals, beastly or not, Zeph has a soft spot for them.
After a deep inhale, the silver-haired slid his right foot back, swiftly spinned the sword's blade downwards and just stabbed it right through the soil, different area where he did the pillar earlier. The ground where the leopards once stood suddenly crumbled down into a hole, deep enough till it can't jump or claw up...and also deep enough to made Zeph fell to his knees again.
Slight annoyed by this, the element-wielder signalled to his dragon something, and the creature flew off, searching for a place to land. Zeph sighed, too tired to pull his sword up and get Kieru down, but managed to get the same potion and restore his energy once more.
"Hold on a bit." Zeph called to Kieru as he walked his way to the pillar, thinking it'd be more efficient if he uses his body than his sword now, since it extracted less energy.

Kieru looked up at the creature blocking the light and was reminded as she saw the dragon that Zephel was a rider. She looked down at him as he trapped the leopards before the ground level and saw him walking over. She put her staff back and pulled out her knife, figuring she could make it down safely on her own.
She reached below and stabbed the knife into the side of the pillar and jumped off. She held tightly to her knife as it scratched it's way down, slowing the fall slightly and softening her landing. When she reached the bottom, she dropped into a slight crouch before standing straight. She reached up and grabbed her knife out of the pillar and turned towards Zephel.
True, the drop had hurt her a bit, but she tried to brush the pain off, it not being as bad as it could have. She began to walk slowly towards where Zephel was walking towards her. "I suppose it's nice to see you again. Thank you, I'm sorry for being a burden this time." She said, standing straight as she spoke to him.

Zeph was slightly surprised to see Kieru climbing down on her own, and silently made his way towards her. "It's no trouble. Don't have a choice anyway. Either I saved you, or I saved you with my head bitten off." He looked upwards after that, searching for his dragon, and figured Orphion had found a place to land a few distance away, thanks to the slight rum, bling of the earth and the sudden gust of wind.
He reached in for the energy potion in his jacket and handed it to Kieru. "Drink a few drops. It'll restore your energy." He said with a nod, now remembering she's the same girl from the catacombs, "Ahh...now I see why you said 'again'. ...I don't remember if we've properly introduced ourselves, though."

"I don't believe we have." She said, taking the potion quietly and complying with his advice of it then handed it back. "My name is Kieru. Thank you again. I ran into some trouble a little while ago and cannot fight as I had back at the catacombs." She explained with a straight face, watching him.

Zeph nodded in acknowledgement at her statements as he placed back the potion in his jacket, then introduced himself while removing his goggles from his eyes, seeming to forgot he's still wearing it. "Zephel. And please don't thank me about the incident back then. My brother helped to fix my mistake, so I assume he's the hero of the day." The silver-haired shrugged, not really used to be thanked.
"Anyway, since you have your full energy now, it would be best if you dash off now. I'm going to release the leopards--" He suddenly paused, an idea entering his head. "Better yet, I'm going to train with them."

Kieru watched him a moment, silent as she tried to decide how to ask. "You're a dragon rider, correct?" She questioned, having seen the dragon earlier. "Is there anything about being a rider that you can tell me or advise me on?"

"Hm? Surprised by her question, Zeph could only let out a questioning hum. "I'm a dragon rider, yes. Advices about being a rider, however, hmm..." He rubbed behind his neck, thinking back what actually can be considered as 'advices' during his course as a dragon rider.
"I'm pretty sure you already know that dragons and their riders are basically one, so we share a lot of things. Thoughts, being one." The silver-haired shrugged, not really a person suitable enough to ask for facts.
"Oh yeah. And death also." Zeph continued. "I remember Tyr said something close to that. If a dragon dies, the Rider might commit suicide and vice versa because they are one and if one dies a part of the other dies as well. Part of the culture, I suppose."

"I see.... I apologize for the random questioning, but Tyr had told me I should speak with other riders while waiting for word from him." Kieru explained, a straight face as she stood tall, not used to talking with others. "Is there anything else you can tell me?" She asked.

"Ahhh..." Zeph nodded, slowly understanding what's happening. "I see. So you're about to be a dragon rider, huh?" He shifts his weight to his other leg, trying to remember the last batch of dragon riders was a few years ago. He smiled a bit, satisfied at the fact the culture might revive back this year.
"Huh. Well, if that's the case, then I'd like to help you out. It's just...I'm not that good of a person to be asking for advices and such." With a shrug, he suddenly remembered that new fact he acquired about dragon mating. "Egh." The silver-haired winced, weighting down the options whether to tell her about that or not.

"I see..." Kieru said a bit quietly. "Thank you for your time and help. I suppose I shall go now then." She said blankly, her face still straight, not seeming to notice a thought that entered his head. "Maybe next time you see me, I will have a dragon partner of my own." She said, giving a small nod then turning and beginning to walk off.

"Ugh, please, that's the last thing I want to see." Zeph said. It took a moment for him to realize he's actually being rude, and when he does, he shook his head and correct his last sentence. "I mean... Hopefully, your dragon will be male, so I won't stay clear of you." He admitted, feeling rather awkward at what just escaped his mouth.

Kieru stopped and glanced back at Zephel a moment as he spoke, a bit confused on what he was going on about. "I will find out soon enough." She said in response to what the dragon's gender would be. She looked back in the direction she was leaving in and glanced to him again. "Well, goodbye." She said with a nod, trying not to be rude as she turned and continued to walk away.
