Kiara was laying down near her new nest. You know, the ones she laid last night, while everyone was sleeping. She was in her cave, curled up in a ball peeking out her eye, Making sure they were safe. Yes, Kiara is officially a mother now. who knew, that this day would come, esspecially since Iku is the feminist that prolonged everything who happened to fall in love with a rider who's dragon was female. She couldn't mate with a female now could she. Even if it were possible Kiara preferred the the males anyways. Iku just loved making everything complicated now didn't she. Of course Iku was her best friend, even her other half, you could say. Without Iku there would be no Kiara. and she wouldn't be the one who had to lay eggs for the weyr. Kiara was thankful, for being a dragon with a rider, for now being a mother, for meeting a guy who just happend to be missing at the moment. Shame on him for being late. Kiara went to peek at her eggs once more when she was blinded by the rising sun. She figured, it may be time to get up and call for that dragon husband of hers. Kiara then stretched as she walked towards her eggs that just seemed to shine in the light. They felt warm and she could already feel a beat coming for some of them. This made Kiara, a very happy dragon.
Kiara nudged her colorful eggs more into the nest. Sometimes she got the feeling they were trying to escape the nest. She then looked down. There was a Red egg, 2 blacks, 2 blues, 2 browns, a green, 2 whites. Yes such a colorful bunch. She felt an interesting future coming her way. As she then recalled her relationship with her brother, being black and white. Totally opposite sides of the poles here. yet there was 2 blacks and 2 whites. Well thats where orphian came in if they ever get into a fight. Yup Kiara was going to take it easy and be the cool mom that everyone loves. She couldnt wait until she saw the look on Orphians face when he finds out that he's offically a daddy.[Tag Orphian/Syani  ]

'Shyte, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late...' Orphion glided down the sky, ultimately blaming Hikaru for making him this late. Distractions a mere little boy could make...thing is he's not just a little boy, he's a bad luck MAGNET. So there's bound to have something either life-threatening or embarassing as he carries the boy to the mountains for his herbology leaf collection before the blue one flew off as quick as he can, directly towards Mount Rei.
A familliar cave finally came in his viewFlapping his wings lightly as he landed his hind legs on the earth, Orphion quickly closes his wings as he rushed his way inside the cave. It's been a month since their 'flight'...and each and every day that follows after that, Orphion never misses to visit the same cave over and over...3 times a day at the very minimum.
Zeph, his rider, accused Orphion of being too overly protective of the black dragon. The silver-haired even admits that he felt a pang of pity for Kiara too at the blue one's un-macho manner. But honestly, Orphion can't even sleep well if he doesn't know how Kiara's doing, and the fact that she's pregnant only further increases the number of his visits.
Today, he thought, is the same as the other days. He doesn't even realized it has been a month already. So, as the blue dragon entered the cave with that same guilty draconic smile on his scaly face, he quickly started his apology. "Ah, I'm so sorry for my incredibly late timing, my love. How are you today?? Have you eaten anything? Should I fetch you something?"
A different scent caught Orphion's attention, pausing his words, tongue-tide. He raised his nose in the air, carefully following where that scent came from as he gets nearer and nearer to Kiara's nest. Technically, his nose is the first sense that caught the existence of the eggs inside the nest, and when it's his eyes' turn...
"K-Kiara!! ...Is...is that..?!?" Orphion gaped at the colorful little eggs present, seemingly cannot believe his eyes at the moment. "Are those...OUR eggs?!" He tore his eyes away from the nest to look into Kiara straight in the eyes, to make sure of the truth. His expression must have looked priceless now; shocked, excited, surprised...relief.

Kiara chuckled as Orphian entered the cave. Her scaly mouth was barely moved by the slight smile. It was funny, seeing him fly in apologizing for being late. Trying to make up for it. She was often visited by him, so Kiara was never lonely. She want going to be lonely anymore now that she had the eggs to look after. Especially when they hatch. Kiara watched Orphian follow his nose towards the nest she had created. Her smile only grew. When he had turned towards her questioning her if they were their eggs
"Well who else's eggs could they be" She chuckled. Really now who else would lay eggs in HER cave. She found Orphian very cute sometimes. His excitement to seeing her, and the babies too. She was very lucky to get such a sweet guy, when the whole thing started out as a joke.

Orphion would've slapped his head(if he was a human) to be asking such a stupid question. But the mere sight of the eggs totally stripped any common sense presence in his head. The excitement got the hold of his tongue as he sort of bounced slightly in pure exhiaration. In fact, so many thoughts run through his head now that all he can blurted out is, "Kiara, they're so COLORFUL!!"
...Now it's either he had just traded his manliness to a child's nature...or he has never seen dragon eggs before. Zeph never actually revealed these types of things to the blue one. Well, at least it brings out a rare part of Orphion that has lost all account of maturity. 'Kiara, Kiara! Look at them!! Wait!! That means...I'm the father of these eggs?? Whoah... Wait, wait!! That also means...!!"
He giddily spins his large head, that dragon-styled grin never left his face. It's only until he faces Kiara that his childish excitement slowly subsided, and the ecstatic look in his eyes lessens to a calm thankful gaze. "Kiara...you're a mother..." That look of relief and gladfulness never escaped his expression. Now Orphion has found a new-found respect for mothers, be it dragons or humans or any other species. They have the power to bring out new souls to the world; pure and untainted. This fact, greatly opens Orphion's eyes. "You're amazing, Kiara..."

Kiara chuckled, Who knew that he would be so interesting to watch. She loved how excited he was. It only proved Iku wrong when said that all males are the same. But I suppose she proved herself wrong by falling for Tyr himself. And she found herself very entertained by the fact that Orphian now looked at her as if she were a goddess. It made her laugh when he especially said that she was amazing for having eggs and is now a mother.
"Well, that makes you amazing as well" She chuckled. It didn't make him any different. besides, he was going to deal with them most of the time anyways. Yes, after carrying these eggs for a month and going to watch them for the next ten. Kiara was going to kick back and relax. How was she expected to sleep when she's so paranoid that someone was going to come in her cave while she was sleeping and steal her eggs. So she only deserved a break after they hatched. Even if Orphian were to stay over Kiara would still be paranoid at night.
And yep, that means the kids are spending the night with daddy

Orphion just managed to shoot one happy grin at Kiara, revealing his fangs at full length, when she spoke of the thought that he can be amazing as well. His eyes lights up at that almost instantly, then watched those little eggs with wonder.
Thoughts started spinning inside his head...but he never knew it's the same as Kiara's idea. "Kiara, maybe you should take a night off or something. A day or two too if you want. You deserve a break." He said it so maturely...like the dragon Kiara once met before at their first encounter. "I don't mind to babysit the eggs at all."
Strange enough, he shuffled a bit, his gaze unfocused before slowly turning to the female, full of hope. "I mean, if you trust me enough, that is. Because...embarrassing as it is, I absolutely have no idea how to...take care of our eggs here." Full of hope, yeah right, for Kiara to teach him a thing or two on babysitting, that is.
Sometimes, Orphion just wished his rider would back him up with some additional information on these things to avoid embarrassing moments such as these...

Kiara chuckled once more. There was that over protectiveness of his again. She shook her head. 'I would not be able to sleep if i couldn't keep my eye on them, but you're welcome to stay the night you know that' She said with a cheerful attitude. She was happy that he offered, but either way, she would be constantly checking up on them anyways. So there was no need. Though, will it really change when the eggs hatch? Probably not, She'll probably worry about them 10x more if anything.
But that didn't seem to matter. If only Iku and Tyr would have a kid now, She could experience this joy herself. Though with their relationship its best if they WEREN'T to have a kid. Kiara would feel sorry for the kid for the parents are still kids themselves.

Witnessing the Black Dragon smiling cheerfully at him and allowing him to babysit their hatchlings is more than enough to let Kiara earn a lick from Orphion. And she did. Out of pure excitement too. "Oh, thank you, Kiara! This really made my day!"[/i] He circled his way around the nest happily, admiring the beautiful eggs, before looking back at Kiara, that over-protectiveness glint surrounded his eyes yet again.
"Don't get jealous that I'll give way more attention to the eggs than to you while I'm guarding them~"[/i] He joked, revealing his sharp fangs as he smirked, dragon-style. The Blue Once chuckled for a while, before slowly lessening his smile. "I know you're strong, and I know you know that you're strong...but please take care of yourself."[/i] He can't help but feel worried. One, is because it's Kiara. Two, it's because Kiara is his mate. Three, he's terrified of his own self if he knows somebody harmed his mate OR the eggs.
Orphion has to admit. His inner dragon beast can be awaken fairly easily now that he has a family to take care of. ...And he fears that he might not be able to control it. "Oh. How's that brother of yours is doing? Did he found a mate? ...Or would he rather wait for that...brute Red Dragon's return..?"[/i] The Blue One can't help but to slightly shiver by the mental image of it.[/color]

Kiara chuckled once more. The energetic dad always excited when she let him stay the night, or let him help watching over the eggs. It were sometimes as if he were a kid himself. Which somewhat worried Kiara. Was she really going to watch over 11 kids? Maybe him being daddy wasn't such a good idea. But it couldn't be helped now. Besides it was somewhat fun seeing him act like a kid on the inside.
"Oh it will be you who is jelous because a mother's love is like none other" Said the very wise Kiara. She continued to play with him. Kiara felt a huge amount of joy. She has accomplished so much in the past few months. Especially living up to the title Weyrdragon. The bearer of dragon eggs. But not only that, she felt an adventure, a new adventure that Iku would never understand. Becoming a mother....
"I havn't heard from Shruikai, since that day. He has a strange habit of becoming a hermit, you see, Xue Fang too" Kiara said

Orphion shot Kiara a rather satisfying look when she states about mother's love, "Well, after hearing that, I felt jealous of the young ones already."[/i] He jokingly glared at the colorful eggs, but smiling all the while. All this while, he never imagines himself as being a father before...heck, the thought didn't even enter his mind!
It suddenly hit him that before he met Kiara, he's very much like Zeph himself. Quiet, reserved, and never knew the meaning of 'love' before. But now that he found it, and being a father to add...he feels..happy, for once. And this truly alerts him. Since he represents half of his rider, there's a high chance that they share the same perceptive of things... So, when his rider finally managed to, if possible, find love...he might be acting the same way Orphion is now...
"That Xue Fang..."[/i] He started after the long pause, "Zephel had mentioned a lot about her since her sudden dissappearance. Well, not verbally. But as his other half, I feel as if he holds something of her."[/i] The Blue One smiled to himself, before slowly facing Kiara. "Do you think our riders are going to feel the same thing we're feeling now...?"[/i] He asked, gazing at the eggs as he did.[/color]

Kiara then looked at Orphian. Not exactly sure what he meant by feel the same thing we're feeling now. She looked back at her eggs.
"Only time can really tell" Said Kiara as she laid there now looking outside of the cave. Experiencing what Iku went threw, Kiara wouldn't guess anything anymore. Never in a million years would she guess that Iku would finnally admit to her feelings to Tyr. But it happend...

"Perhaps." Orphion sighed, before moving near Kiara to give her a rub at the side of her face with his own. What he meant by 'feel' is the feeling of having offsprings...the joy, the pride, the responsibility...all of it. "But I wish they could one day. This feeling...is priceless..."[/i]
He admit he never knew a thing about fathering hatchlings, and he's lucky they're still eggs that didn't move and bug him to death yet. But still, he can't help but feel so proud of this. "Are the little ones going to make it out of their shell safely soon? ...I'm especially worried about poachers.." He knows its wise not to say this in front of a mother, but Orphion must express his greatest worry to avoid it happens.[/color]

'As long as either one of us is here, I'm sure they will be fine' Said Kiara reassuring Orphian. Though he was right. Being worried about poachers. It is the reason she is awake every hour on the hour checking to see if her eggs are still there. Its trouble some, it really is. Trying to keep you family together and yourself sane. One can really loose alot of sleep becoming a parent. The different between Kiara and Iku, is Iku's child would not be hunted by poachers. Plus, Iku being a parent doesn't seem like something that would happen in the near future. And Untill then Iku will not understand what she's going through.
Kiara nodded at Orphian. 'It will be twice the work in protecting them once they are hatched, Dragon eggs arnt really valuable to poachers, but the dragons themselves, you would not believe" Kiara said. And suddenly she was worried about what would happen once they hatch. There was a worried glint in her eyes. If she were to loose her babies, it would proabably tear her apart inside. But thats why she had Orphian, right? to help her defend herself and the babies when she needed. Kiara felt a certain type of safety with Orphian. Even if he wasn't the bravest of all. She knew deep down that he wouldn't let anyone touch her or her eggs.
'It should take a few months, before they hatch' She said shaking out the scary thought in her head.

Orphion listened in detest of the topic he chose, unconciously growling in anger if ANYONE touched the eggs OR the little dragons once they hatched. He can't imagine what would happen to them if the poachers got the little hatchlings. Shaking his head, he turned his attention to Kiara now after quite a while staring at their eggs, and quickly noticed the change in her eyes.
While she provide him the information when the eggs will hatch, Orphion made his move by rubbing the side of his head against Kiara's for a quick while before pulling back with that smile of his again. "I will NEVER let ANYONE touch you OR our eggs."[/i] He stated the very same thing Kiara thought of, though with his fangs revealed, his smile morphed into a hateful grin instead as he imagined the very worst that would happen.
"...I'm sorry for being so selfish.. I'd like to suggest something that I should propose WAY earlier."[/i] He started, that charming dragon smile was back on his face again. "We should set up a time for each of us to take turns watching the eggs. That way, you can get a proper rest for once... I'll discuss with my rider about this, but I'm sure Zephel will be more than agreeable."[/i]
Naturally, Orphion's worried. He quickly noted in his head to ask his rider about the most recent case of the poachers...and warn Zephel and his brother to keep an extra eye for Ryo, the blue fire lizard.[/color]

Kiara thought about it for a second looking into his worried yet protective eyes. She felt a little safer with him around. And it looked as though she had no choice. She knew that Orphian wasn't going to let her over worry herself. Esspecially after a growl like that. She had no choice but to agree. Kiara nodded her head, agreeing with him. Maybe this will help her get some sleep. Guess you cant protect anyone being tired all the time. Rest was a necessary thing.
"Fine, just promise me you wont over do it" She said
