Roy really wasn`t prepared for Iku going to slap this guy right away. But he quickly tightened the grip to his throat to prevent him yelling out loud. This still was a dangerous situation. If one of these poachers was showing up here then the others wouldn`t be far away.
"Okay, did you hear that ?" he asked the guy underneath him. "I really hope for you and your group that you will never cross her path again." And with these words he knocked the poacher out with a quick hit on his head.
"I didn`t know what else to do" he shrugged after he stood up facing Iku again. "We really couldn`t let him go."
Then he turned around to the nest of lizards again. "Well, I don`t know anything about them. Can they move on their own? Or do we need to carry them? If so, I would suggest that you are carrying her so that I can cover you.... if thats okay with you of course"

Iku then turned towards Roy. Her face was dead serious. Did he not notice that fire lizards have wings? Iku then looked at the fire lizards once more. They all seemed scared, Like they didnt know what to do. Iku felt sorry for them. All she wanted to do was protect them.
"They'll fly of course, I just dont know where to take them" She said softly

"Well, any place is better than here, right ?" Roy replied. "Can you give them a command or something ?" he asked Iku while checking the area still holding his sword in his hands and added "Then we still have to look for the others, right?"
This is bad, it was already worse that the two of them are in the middle of all these poachers. But now they have a lot more to worry about than just themselves if they take the lizards with them.
And then all of the sudden Roy had the smell of smoke in his nose. "Say.... do you smell that too ?"

Iku sat for a moment trying to find them a new home. Which was proving itself to be quite difficult. She heard many footsteps surrounding her, so it was a race against time whether or not they would survive. Fire lizards adapt quickly and can live anywhere in DD. Iku then thought of the one place that always seems so deserted, but enough for dragons to live. Either Mt. Rei or the grasslands.
Can you give them a command or something ?"
Iku turned around and looked blankly at Roy. She was in shock that he actually asked that. Note to self, Next time your trying to save fire lizards, get a comrade that actually knows something about fire lizards. Though she couldn't blame him. Iku spent most of her time here in DD learning about the fire lizards and the Weyr Dragons. Not everyone has the same interest in Dragons as she does, and always will.
"Uh the command would be 'Follow me' " Said Iku somewhat blankly.
"Say.... do you smell that too ?"
Iku then stood up, sniffing the air. The air was off. It was thicker than normal. Iku continued to focus of the smell. And Iku didnt like it. She couldn't tell what it was exactly, but instincts told her to go the other way. Usually Iku listened to her instincts but something told her, maybe more Fire Lizards were in trouble? Iku continued to smell the air a bit.
"It...Smells like somethings burning" She said praying to god it wasn't a fire.

Roy felt like faceplaming himself as Iku bluntly told him the command. Who could have known that its THAT easy ? Then Iku also noticed the smell.
"Wait a second, stick with the lizards" Roy told her and ran to the tree which was the closest to them. He jumped and grabbed a hold of one of the few branches that reached towards the ground and then pulled himself up. After that he climbed up until he could view over the treetops and looked around. Sadly Ikus thought showed itself to be the truth because Roy spotted a trail of smoke in some distance. "Ooookay, that can`t be good.." Roy said to himself and quickly climbed down again.
Somewhere in the middle of the tree when he got first sight of Iku again he already started explaining "Iku! You were right about the-" That was when an arrow pierced into the wood next to his face which was actually just a few centimetres away. "WHA-?!" Causing him to slip backwards and fell to the ground.
Just in time he could grab another branch with his hands to manage a save landing on the ground. "Damnit!" he said as he stood up and could already hear the sound of men running through the forest drawing closer.

Iku was about to do the same thing when suddenly Roy had beaten her to it. Iku sweatdropped. Wouldn't it be easier for the person who can fly to check it out. Sure Iku was weak at the moment but she could atleast fly over there and check it out. Iku sighed for a moment as she looked back to the fire lizards. The seemed to be coming out now. Somewhat calm with Iku's presence. She sighed in relif, that now they were on good terms. It wasn't very long after Roy came running back.
"Iku! You were right about the-" *thud* Iku jumped from the thud noise. As she looked at Roy. She rolled her eyes, Men always trying to make an entrance. Just as she opened her mouth to say something she was cut off by the sounds of men yelling. Thats when one of them walked out of the bushes.
"You guys are a noisy bunch ya know" He grumbled.

Roy bit his lip as the first poacher appeared. 'They must have spotted me when I was checking the horizon... damn! Who should know that they are THAT good?' Roy thought to himself and clenched his fists. The situation really wasn`t good at all. Iku was weak and they still that the lizards in their back and soon they will be surrounded by a bunch of poachers.
Roy took a step backwards to get closer to Iku. Busy with the thoughts of the miserable situation they were in he didn`t notice that Iku was rolling her eyes. And if he did, he would probably didn`t care. The only thing that matters is to get out of here..... preferable alive.
"Hey Iku.." he whispered to her as he eyed the big poacher who just made his entrance to the scene. "Take the lizards and run to the left. That will lead you away from the fire and probably from the poachers too" He made a pause after that. "I`ll keep this guy busy."
From what he already knows about Iku he just wished for her not to make any complains or rant about how stupid men always act to play the hero and hope for a "personal" reward afterwards. Roy wasn`t like that, but how would she know ?

Iku stood there for a second with a blank face. Did he really just tell her to run away with the fire lizards. Iku knew that protecting the fire lizards was number one priority. but Iku could not just run away from yet another poacher. She could not believe that he just said that. Iku growled inwardly. "You've got to be kidding me, Excuse me! but I'm no D.I.D.!!!!" Iku yelled
"And annoying at that"
"Excuse me!!!" Iku was on a blowing up streak. and this guy just commented on the wrong time. Iku took her sword out and lunged at the guy. Running as fast as she could. Thats when she sliced the guys arm. There was no way in hell that he was going to live and serves him right. He was seriously a weak poacher if even Iku at her weakest moment could kill him. Or maybe it was just a flame that was underneath Iku's butt. Iku couldn't stand him, she was in the middle of something and he had to go and interupt. How rude! Iku then turned around towards the fire lizards.
"Shall we get going before they come back?" Said Iku

Roy tightened the tightened the grip at the handly of his sword and faced the poacher. He was ready to fight until he heard heard a certain person, who he expected in a save distance already, yelling at him. Sure this wasn`t the best place to argue but her outburst was so sudden that Roy turned around facing her with a blank face "Excuse me??" he replied rather confused than angry.
But that was the point when the poacher opened his mouth and in the same second something in Ikus eyes flashed up. Roy knew that this can`t be good and before he could blink once Iku already rushed past him and killed their opponent off.
Roy felt his jaw dropping slightly but closed his mouth right again. Somebody who messes with that woman was definitely looking for a quick death. And Roy personally wouldn`t want to meet her in a dark side path at night.
He placed his sword back at his belt "Seems like I... kind of underestimated your strength in your current state....sorry" he added kind of muttering. And then turn around to the lizards. "Well then" he quickly changed the topic back to the lizards again."You are totally right, follow me guys!" he said and kind of raised his arms like he expects that the lizards immediately fly off.
But instead of that they slowly gathered up and slowly made their way off from the ground with their little wings and flew towards Iku. "Well, any direction in mind?"

And before Iku knew it she was swarmed by Fire lizards. They all sat on her arms as if they were crows sitting on a scarecrow. Iku stood there sweatdropping. She didnt want to be a scarecrow for firelizards. Save their lives yes, be their chair no! But she didnt mind the attention from them. They were all so cute anyways. Iku finally shook them all off as they all seemed to hover around her.
"The oposite direction as the fire?" Iku bluntly said. She didnt know exactly which way the fire was. So she planned of following him. Though he seemed a little lost himself. Iku sighed once more.
"Please dont tell me we're lost" She muttered

Roy couldn`t help it but to grin at the sight of Iku being used as a scarecrow. Her blunt answer totally distracted him again though. Not to mention that she was expecting him to be lost. "Do I really look that lost to you ?..." he muttered. "I just wanted to leave the decision to you." Roy shrugged and was kind of glad that he didn`t give her another reason to be upset about.
Roy pointed behind him "Theres the fire" then directed his arm in the opposite direction. "This would be our way then, lets go" After that he walked past Iku into the direction he just declared and added jokingly "You keep an eye on the lizards, and I`ll keep an eye on you."

Iku glared at him. He said that as if she needed protecting. As if she were some weakling that needs to be watched all the time
Ugh how she hated it. But even she knew she couldn't argue at the moment. God how she wanted to yell at him. But she was weak. And without Kiara, Iku was pretty much useless at the moment. It just happend to be the time when her strength was low that something happens and she wanted to protect it. Iku punched the nearest tree. Of course Iku did have some strength. So the tree naturally fell. It wasn't till after did she realize that that was a dead giveaway to their whereabouts.
"Fuck" She said realizing what she had done. Suddenly Iku didn't feel safe at all. Of course she didnt feel safe to begin with. But this only furthered the feeling. Iku then continued walking the direction Roy was walking. Paranoid, she was looking in every direction. Iku only prayed that the sun would set soon. She needed strength. Not a bodyguard. She knew she could do better than this. Iku sweatdropped as she had to keep an eye out. When suddenly a group of poachers jumped out. Yes, a group of poachers contained not 1,2 or 5.... but 10 of them. Iku backed up, bumping right into Roy.
"Fun...." She groaned. Only a miracle could happen now!

It wasn`t hard to notice that Iku didn`t feel alright at all with the whole situation. It was understandable, since Roy knew how it feels like to not have the strength to protect something thats important to you. 'But still, she could at least show a little appreciation towards me' Roy thought just as Iku released her anger at a tree. Roy shook his head and continued following the path.
Until the poachers jumped out of nowhere and surrounded them. "How- ?" He was seriously startled and didn`t even realize that Iku bumped into him. Biting his lip he looked around 'Damn... it must have been the tree... why didn`t I notice??'
"Well well, seems like we came just in time before you could leave with our precious prey." The biggest guy greeted them opening his arms like a welcome-pose.
"Great..." Roy let out. What should they do now ? Every step could be their last, theres no way the both of them could escape with the lizards from ten of those guys.
"Don`t worry, we`ll take good care of them" Their leader said and gave one of his companions a sign to approach the little group.
Blinking from left to right Roy didn`t know what to do. There was no escape as the poacher came closer every second. "Iku..." Roy began to tell her a way out of it, but he really couldn`t think of anything. Then the poacher reached his hands out for one of the fire lizards and Roy grabbed his sword in a reflex, hitting the stud into the poachers stomach and sent him to the ground. Now Roy only saw out of the corner of his eye that the other poachers rose their weapons and began to charge.

Iku was about to bulldoze her way threw when suddenly they all withdrew their sword. Iku sweatdropped as she continued to look around for an escape. When suddenly an idea popped into her head. And at the moment it seemed as if it were the only way. Iku then grabbed hold of Roy. Spreading her wings, she then flew up into the air. One problem. Her body is still weak so she couldn't fly very far. Or for very long. Iku landed on the ground. It was a matter of seconds before she started running. She knew they were not far behind. The fire-lizards stayed close. Iku ran for her life, When she noticed that the poachers were only getting closer. Iku came to quick halt.
She faced the poachers. Sending an electric charge threw her from her shoulders to her hands, putting full force into it. She then shot an electric bolt flying towards them. A powerful one at that. It knocked out all the poachers. Thankfully. But Iku had put so much force into that bolt that her whole body gave out. Iku fell to the ground. She was out cold.

Roy prepared for the impact of the poachers attack but then already got pulled into the air. Roy looked up, it wasn`T very surprising, after all she wouldn`t have wings for nothing. Still her face expression wasn`t happy at all even though they escaped the poachers. She seemed in pain... it must be terrible to fly in such a weak state shes in, but what else could Roy do than to hold tight ?
Soon they both already hit the ground again and continued running. But before their pursuers could harm them Iku already knocked them out with the last bit of her strength. After that, she collapsed.
"Iku!" Roy kneeled down and gently lifted her from the ground. Her forehead was glowing like she had a fever. "Damn..." Roy was hating himself for not being able to do anything to prevent that from happening. But he also hated Iku for being so stubborn. There sure must have been a way to get out of that without swallowing the last bit of her strength. Next to that, slowly the thoughts rose up in his mind what might happen to him if the weyrleader found out that its Roys fault that Iku was in a situation like that ? The meeting at the clinic already taught him that hes not a guy to mess with.
Shaking his head to get rid of these thoughts he lifted Ikus arm around his shoulder, then turned around and slowly stood up without hesitating. Now she layed on his back, her arms lifeless around his throat and her legs were supported by Roys arms. "Alright.. now lets get out of here, the end of the forest can`t be that far." Taking a look around to check if the lizards were alright Roy started running, glad about the fact that there haven`t been any poachers left..... have they?
