Saving a life

[Iku]

Iku was still passed out. She knew she should've saved her strength so that she could escape. But there was escaping them. Iku had her reasons, why she did what she did. She wanted to live, she wanted the fire-lizards to live. And most of all, she wanted Roy to live. He was, after all dragged into this. The fire lizards were not far behind. They followed closely. Scared for their lives, freaking out about ever small movement there was. If you were being chased by men who wanted to kill you for your skin. You would be scared too. After a while of walking and still no sign of walking up. There suddenly came a huge mess of clouds. Roaring threw the sky. It was going to rain, and soon at that.

Iku still was fast asleep. Her body could only do so much, and she over strained herself. The heat wasn't nessarily helping either. It wore her out. She'd been running for hours before Roy showed up. It was going to be sooner or later that she did collapse. It was then when the rain started to fall that Iku finally opened her eyes. At first she woke up hoping the whole poachers thing, was a dream. But when she opened her eyes she was not only in the same forest she was in when it all happed but she was also being carried on Roy's back.

".....What happend?" She said rubbing her head. Apperently when she fell she hit her head pretty bad. Not bad enough to where there was blood. But enough to where there was going to be a bump.

[Roy]

Roy didn`t stop running, even though his speed decreased after a while. But as long as this forest isn`t going to end he won`t stop. The chance of running into another mess in this forest again was just too big. Roy noticed the dark sky after some time "Seems like nature is against us too" he signed and stopped his feet. Taking a look around he looked for some hideout. "If it really starts to rain it won`t be good to just continue..." Just as he finished he felt the first drop on his face. "Great"

After that he felt that Iku was starting to move. His muscles tensed up. After all he was carrying around a woman on his back. Which means that her body was literally pressed against Roys back, thanks to the earths gravitation. But after her first question Roy relaxed. 'Shes probably too weak to complain...' he thought in relief as Roy spotted a huge tree that formed a little hollow with its roots, enough to get them a dry place. "Just a second" Roy replied to Iku as he made his way towards the tree.

Arrived under the roots protection Roy went down on his knees allowing Iku slowly to crawl on the ground if she felt like it "Do you want to lay down?" Roy asked concerned. "It must have been pretty rough for you to get rid of our pursuers, so hard that you collapsed. After that I just looked for a way out of there and carried you" Making a little pause he turned to her "You.. do remember that you fought the poachers, don`t you ?"

[Iku]

Iku didn't want to remember. She had hoped it was a dream. But when Roy had set her down and the fire lizards came swarming around her. Her hope that it was all a dream had vanished. She remembers putting all her strength into one blast. But she never remember falling. Or even blacking out. The last thing she remembered was putting all of her strength into one attack. But never shooting it.

"I remember putting a full charge attack, But nothing afterwards" She said rubbing her head. Her head was pounding, thankfully it wasn't bleeding. So besides the fact that She was tottally worn out. She was fine. Iku leaned against the tree trunk. It felt so cool.

"Did i get them? are they still alive? what happend?" She asked. Hoping that it would be the end.

[Roy]

Roy was also leaning at a tree and looked at the fire lizards who gathered around them. Then his eyes trailed of to the rain drops falling to the ground.

"Well, you did. Otherwise we wouldn`t sit here peacefully like that I assume. At least I couldn`t see anyone still standing." he replied to her questions.

"But for now theres not much we can now.." Roy said pondering.
Now that the dark clouds have covered the sun Roy wondered if Iku was feeling any better. Or probably her strength only comes back at nights ?

[Iku]

Iku chuckled at the fire lizards who were gathering around. They were so full of life. Iku was glad she had saved them. Not only did she do a good deed. But she fought for something she cared so deeply. She remembered, When Iku had first gotten here. Here only friend was Kimi. They all chirped "Kyuu" Iku pet them as she was leaned up against the tree.

"Good, Hopefully that will be the last of them" She said softly.

[Roy]

"I`m sure about that" Roy replied as he continued to watch the falling raindrops. Who knows how long they have to sit here and wait for the rain to stop ?

His thoughts were traveling back to Syani again, must be the rainy mood. Strangely the whole poacher incident kept his mind totally busy. Or was it just because he has been with Iku ? Confused he shook his head. But when has he sat together with a girl hiding from the rain last time ? Probably never before, at least he couldn`t remember.

'Say something you idiot!' Roy pushed himself in order to prevent his head from creating weird thoughts. But then suddenly he had an idea. Something that let him at least think clear again. 'I`m surely not the only guy who got problems with that certain topic. So why not giving it a try?'

Then Roy turned over to Iku who was sitting between the fire lizards. "Ummm, do you mind if I ask you how you and Tyr got together?"

[Iku]

Iku chuckled as she heard his question. And to be honest she didn't know what to say. Why didn't she know what to say? because there was so much to say. Her and Tyr had fought so much before the sparks began to happen. There was even times when they didn't talk for months, Sometimes years.

"I confessed" She simply said.

That is how they got together. She confessed her feelings. Though it wasn't as easy as it sounded. Alot had happend before. Iku didn't even know for sure that he had felt the same. Sure, they had a connection. One deeper than others. But she didn't know that. You could say that her thoughts clouded the obvious truth. Iku continued to pet the fire lizards that all seemed to be crowding around her like little kids waiting for story time.

[Roy]

Roy blinked at Ikus answer. "You.. confessed?" he replied in confusion because that was totally not the answer he was expecting. The truth is, he wasn`t even sure what he has been expecting, but definitely not a simple answer like this.

His mind travels back to Syani again trying to fit Ikus answer into their relationship. "It can`t be so easy.." he said then when he had to think of their talk in the garden of dreams. Roy did confess to her... somehow. But she was rejecting him, because she thinks that she can`t be with him and that Roy deserves someone much better than her.

"How long have you known each other before that happened though? I.. I mean.. did he just agree ?" he was asking careful. Nobody could know how Iku would react to a question like this that just cuts deep into her private sphere. But Roy was suddenly driven by the thought of getting to hear more about it. Probably he did confess to early to Syani, who should know that ?

In fact Roy was accepting her decision that she rejected him; slowly, but he does. But still he wanted to understand the circumstances and reasons. She was seeing in Roy a close friend, but why there can`t be more ?

[Iku]

Iku sighed as she realized that she confessing wasn't how it ALL happend. Iku looked at Roy with eyes, that had a story to tell. Her eyes being deep emerald, She looked back over towards the rain.

"We've known each other for 2 years, I've been in love with him the since then. But me, I had no trust back then" Iku paused she knew she wasn't making any sence at all. Iku's focus remained on the fire lizards. They all seemed to now be curled up into balls. Iku chuckled.

"It was the dragons that brought us together, First it was Kimi then Kiara." Iku stopped for a moment she felt she had said too much. Iku then curled her legs wrapping her arms around them. She sat there conciplating if she should tell him her life's story. "To be honest, at first, I couldn't stand him" She said quietly.

Iku paused a moment before continuing. Starring at the dragons, She didn't know if she continued, though her heart had wanted to. But what would be the point? What purpose would it serve by telling him? Was there some sick fantasy going on inside his head? Iku didn't know. Iku then took the chance at standing. She was relieved that her legs were strong at least for her to stand.

[Roy]

Roy gave her a weird look, luckily she was just watching the rain so she couldn`t see it. 'She had no trust back then? She still hasn`t much of it..' he thought but kept that for himself. He knew it wouldn`t be a good idea to say that out loud, because she might be on her way to actually trust him a bit... a bit at least.

"Kimi and Kiara.." Roy knew that some people can bound themselves to dragons. He has seen Zephels and Tyrs dragons already. "Whos your partner ? And how did you meet the other one ?" he asked curiously not adding 'and how did they get you close to Tyr?' in order not to lose her talky mood.

Roy was bobbing back and forth in excitement because he just wanted to know how everything between them developed. At the same time he was wondering if he might have asked too much and Iku was starting to think weird of him. But if that happened, then its too late now anyway. All he can do is to wait if she decides to continue or not.

[Iku]

Iku sighed as she starred into the rain. "Kimi is my fire lizard, She more like the fat cat you keep at home, And Kiara, She is my dragon" Said Iku as she looked at her palm, More specifically, the dragon mark, burned into her skin. She remembered the day Kiara hatched. She was small, like a fire lizard. She could easily be confused as one. Then within days, Kiara was as big as her, It wasn't long after that Kiara was too big to fit in her dorm room, forcing Kiara to find a cave.

"How did Tyr and I meet? I met him the day I adopted Kimi" She responded. Yes, That was when they met. She didn't get to know him until she came to him asking questions about her egg. It didn't seem to hatch right away like most Fire lizards did. No, Kimi decided to take its sweet time. And thats, the day it all started...
