Roy scrached the back of his head, obviously embarrassed "Ah, that was nothing, really. And like you can see, he wasn`t even that big as yours."
"Huh?" After Syani`s question Roy went serious again. He looked around and tried to hear something. "I don`t hear anything" he whispered.
Then all of the sudden, a branch cracked behind them. Roy turned around quickly and his eyes widen.

A very large, very scary-looking werewolf appeared right from the bushes near the swamp. Syani gasped, realized that they're both in a sticky swamp, so its impossible to run or avoid the werewolf if it tries to attack. Deep in her mind, she KNOWS this wolf looked familiar...
"You mean DOGGY!" a child's voice could be heard as something explodes behind that wolf, automatically blowing the animal off a few feet. Syani covers her head as the wold flew right above her, hitting right at a tree and scattered off with a yelp...
The half-vampire turned around to the bush, and saw a tiny black-haired girl with a bleeding rabbit in her arms, "......Chibit?! That's my DEAD RABBIT!!" But the girl doesn't seem to hear or even see them, "...And that's ME!!"

Roy was watching the whole scene. At first he has been pretty scared of the werewolf, but now that it is gone his eyes were on the young black haired girl. "This is... you?" he said slowly "What were you doing here all alone?" he asked while he got a little closer so that he could see Syani`s young version a bit better.

Syani stared at her younger version as hard as Roy is, "I think I was catching that wolf just now 'cause it killed my Chibit!"
The little child looked a lot like the present Syani; golden eyes, black messy hair, those tiny fangs...
"...I can't believe I'm saying this...but I looked adorable!" as half a vampire, she never saw how she looked like, being unable to see her reflection and all.

"Wow.. you sure must be strong when you fought against it when you were this small." Roy said while wondering about the situation. "Seems like chibit was very close to you..." he added and looked to the present Syani.
He couldn`t help himself but grinning after hearing Syani`s statement. "Well, besides that your young version looks a LOT like you, you are still looking adorable..... so no need to talk in past tense" he added quickly after turning around like the swamp behind him was very interesting all of the sudden. His knightly attitude makes him being polite, but not judging about a girls look that often.

"Fought?" Syani almost laughed hearing Roy's statement, "I was never brave to be fighting against something much bigger than me! I think I was pissed it killed my rabbit that things started blowing up!" Now she laughed, as she stared at her past self, who's busy catching her breath...
Syani was a bit stunned when she heard Roy said that, her face turning red a bit. She's about to spat back at Roy that it isn't true...but since she didn't even know how she looked like, her voice can't come out. Her mouth was wide, trying to find the right words to reply.
Blinking at the knight, Syani sighed in defeat, "Okay, fine... THANK YOU, I guess...." Gulping at this awkward situation, she then noticed her chibi-self turning around and walking away, "Oh, hey! Let's follow her! We're done collecting enough black frogs, anyway."

Roy remembered the time at the Creepy Steeple when he jumped after Syani in that hole to catch her somehow without even thinking what could happen. This was a situation similar to this one he thought while watching the young Syani.
Roy noticed that Syani didn`t really feel comfortable with what he just said, but he couldn`t help it. It just came out of his mouth. He scratched the back of his head and didn`t say anything while Syani was thanking him.
"Yeah, this could be very interesting!! I wonder were you are heading now" he replied while making his way through the mud to follow the young Syani.

Syani too was trying to get out of the mud, but got her feet stuck inside it, "Uhm... Roy? Can you please...help me pull myself off...? I'm...kinda stuck here..." She sweatdropped as she reached her hand towards Roy, "I'm sorry, I'm pathetically hopeless in these situations... Heh..."

Roy turned around and saw Syani staying there "Oh.." he couldn`t prevent a slight smile "Sure, no problem! And no need to apologize for it. It could happen to anyone." he grinned. Then he tokk her hand, it felt warm, and he tried to draw Syani slowly in his direction. "Can you move you feet?"

Syani tried to squirm her feet, "Okay, okay, I can now," clutching Roy's hand, the half-vampire then pull one feet out before slowly making her way through the swamp.
"Gosh, Roy, I'm so glad you decided to accompany me here, thank you so much... I've never been here during the night before, so I didn't know chibi-me was chasing canines tonight."

"Hehe, you`ve asked me for a favor, so how could I deny it ?" Roy said smiling when he finally got save ground under his feet again. "Lets hurry, or we are going to loose her" he said in excitement.

"Wow, somebody sure seems excited," Syani smiled and breaks into a run, following her past self. Looking around, she can't help but to have a very bad feeling about this place...
Then, it finally hits her.
"Wait... this is the path towards the vampire mansion!!" A view of a large black castle appeared as they ran nearer. Some bats escaped from the roof as it flew above the forest, shrieking loudly in the night. A few male screams could be heard from inside the mansion as Syani slows down to a halt, placing a hand on Roy's shoulder...
"Are you SURE you want to go in? ...'Cause this is the mansion of the worst vampire clan ever. It's full of female vampires that...eats men, so uh... though they can't see us, I'm just worried if you don't feel right entering this dangerous place..."

Roy suddenly had to think of Kaekeru. He didn`t know why. Maybe because of the bats over his head ? The moon ? The mansion ? Or because of the story of human killing vampires that Syani just told him ? Or is it just because Kaekeru crosses his mind every once in a while when he is with Syani.
"They..." he slowly started "..can`t see us, right ?"
This is the perfect situation for me to get to know my enemy better he thought and made a step towards the mansion.
"I`ll be alright" he said to Syani while his thoughts were still revolving around Kaekeru

"Well, yea, they can't see us, but--"
Syani stopped as he said he'll be alright, as she sensed this tension silence between them.....well, except the male screaming from the mansion ruining the silence.
Though worried, the half-vampire followed behind Roy, receiving flashbacks and memories from this awful place made her frowning. Still, it's nice to recall back some forgotten memories...no matter how bad it is.
"Oh look! Chibi-me!!" pointing at the little Syani from before, they both could see the little girl running towards the gate, opens it with a creak, and enters without closing it the gate...

Roy was watching little Syani as they followed her "It sure wasn`t a good experience to get into that mansion with this age...." he said to himself with a worried side look to Syani.
They were passing the gate and had to walk up a long stairway. Little Syani was almost at the top and Roy increased his speed.
