Black Swamp Frogs

[Roy]

Roy ran down the path towards the gate of the castle. Catching up he noticed that Syani already stopped "Giving up already ?" Roy laughed. But then Syani turned around and disappeared in the dark forest. Roy increased his speed, seems like she is enjoying the race. But where is the fun when she always leads?

Finally they reached the swamp. Roy was trying hard to catch up, but his legs went heavier with every step he made. "Syani- wait-" he gasped as he approached Syani who was already chanting the gate which leads them back to the Demensa again. Seriously, there was no messing around with her half vampire condition. "I`m.. already here!" He replied between his breaths and stopped in front of the gate. "Don`t worry... I`ll be okay" he said breathing heavily. "But.... you know what?" Lifting his head and smiled at her. Then Roy took a hold of her hand, made a step backwards, pulled Syani close to him and whispered "I reached the gate first" as Roy let himself fall backwards and they both were swallowed by the gate.

Syani was being chased by several packs of angry mob for a decade or so, its like she grows with running. Who knows, maybe she could run before she could walk when she was born. That's why she stopped herself from yelling a 'Slowpoke!' to Roy when he finally reached her, reminding herself that Roy can't possibly run as much as she does.

"Okay, let's go home then." She said as he's catching his breath, though his next action caught her ultimately by surprise. First, he steps inbetween her and the portal...okay, that made a brow of hers arched high. Then, he took hold of her hand...her respond to that is her normal electrical-shock shiver. But when he pulled her close to whisper he beats her to the gate, and untypically let himself fall inside the portal...is too much for her mind to comprehend on what the hell just happened.

The space and time around them can only be distinguished by swirly dark lines and revolving spots along with the darkness. When they finally exited the portal back to the demensa, both of them fell the exact way it's supposed to be when they entered the portal from back at the swamp. With Roy slamming on the floor and Syani on top of him.

The portal behind them closes itself in a quick and faded woosh. It took her a moment to register what had happened, before Syani quickly touched her palms and knees on the floor on Roy's sides and push herself up, to avoid touching him...albeit the rather awkward position they're in now, though Syani refuse to acknowledge it. She jokingly glared down at him, crimson either of rage or embarassment, but still glowering at him.

"That was uncalled for, that win was totally unfair!" Syani swear she can't even pretend to be angry at Roy as she grinned, and then laughed, before removing herself from him and sat beside him, still laughing. "You used my phobia to petrify me, THAT'S what happened! ...Though, I did have a head-start of the race... Okay, fine, so we're tied. How's that?"

[Roy]

The glowing light of the gate surrounded them and after everything around them turned so bright that it almost hurt the eyes the whole scenery changed to pitch black darkness and the travel began. A few seconds later the Demensa slowly materialized as the both left the gate exactly how they entered, falling.

"Ack" Roy let out as he hit the ground and gasped for air as Syanis weight stroke him. The both of them are lucky that theres a small plateau in front of the gate, otherwise they would have landed on the stairs which would be quite more painful.

Roy opened his eyes and looked into Syanis face who quickly tried to get into a more comfortable position. At least she tried... she would spazz if she could see how the scenery looked like right now.

"S-Sorry" Roy apologized with a grin at the rather upset seeming Syani. "I planned that kinda diffrent.... but the gate didn`t want to I guess, hehe" And added to himself in his thoughts 'Of course the gate acts like that, its plane physics, you could have thought of that before!'

Roy just smiled at the accusation of an unfair win, it was true that he actually lost, still he liked his idea. After Syani sat herself next to him Roy also pushed himself up into a sitting position rubbing his rips. "I didn`t intend to....petrify you though" he defended himself. "I just couldn`t resist to..." Somehow Roy didn`t actually feel like to finish that sentence and was hoping for Syani not to ask for it.

"A tie? That sounds acceptable!" He joked and got back on his feet reaching out a hand to help his friend up. "Wow.. its gotten dark over here" He said with a look out in the sky. "Should we go back to the dorms?"

[Zephel]

"Of course you can't resist to win when you're competing against a super-fast half-vampire...like, say..myself?" Syani joked when finishing Roy's hanging sentence, trying to appear proud by raising up her chin and nose in the air. She can't help it, it's not everyday she wins something...or even have a friendly competition. It didn't even occured to her what he's really trying to say.

The half-vampire accepted his hand and pulled herself up, staring up at the sky as she did. "Wow, you're right, it IS getting dark. ...Hmm...that reminds me, I gotta look up time-travelling without the time-skipping part at the present once we went to the past.." She stroke her chin in a thinking manner as Roy asked her if they should go back to the dorms.

"Okay! Let's go back, grab dinner and get a good night's sleep. ...Wow, I'm tired." Turning towards the stairs, Syani was just about to climb down, when she suddenly remembered something, slapped her forehead slightly, and turns around to face Roy. "Ah. Dude, I forgot to say thanks again, huh? Well, thank you very much!! For accompanying me through all those...events. And uhm...sorry you got to see all of that feast thing..."

[Roy]

Roy smiled at Syani and gave a slight chuckle at her answer since she didn`t notice again what he was trying to point out, but Roy didn`t mind. "Hehe, yeah, you are right" Syani was happy, after everything that happened, thats all that matters.

"Okay then, dinner would be awesome!" Roy replied as he followed Syani out of the Demensa building. He wasn`t aware of it until now but he was REALLY hungry.... probably its the fault of the feast he was watching..

Just at the moment he thought about the feast Syani turned around and apologized again for everything that has happened. Roy just waved with his hand "Nah... Its okay, afterall I have promised you to accompany you. And it was quite an adventure. So everythings alright"

Next to that, he doesn`t want to know what might have happened if Syani would have been on her own during all that time.

"Alright, if you wanna check some books, then we really should hurry! But.... no race this time" Roy said sweatdropping.

Syani dragged herself out of the Demensa building. Portal-openings and running around the castle she once lived in truly did swallowed a lot of her energy. She was smiling all the way too, since she had found a very important piece of information from her trip...and Roy said the trip was alright.

"Nah...I'll check some books tonight, when the library's closed, so thankfully for you, no race. Hahah! You go rest in your dorm, kay? My mob's there already I figure, they're always punctual." She stated in such a casual manner, it doesn't even seem like she's facing a threat. It's Wednesday, her usual stealing night at the library, and her mob seems to know her schedule too.

"For now! Let's worry on what to eat first." Placing a hand on her stomach, Syani frowned. Being hungry is one of the worst feeling ever, she had learnt that through her travels here. Finding food is such a drag...but there's so many cafes and restaurants here to try, so she's grateful of such a convenient domain.

"Is there a food place you haven't visited yet, Roy?"
