Roy absorbed every word that Syani brought out of her mouth. His eyes widen as he slowly understands what this would actually mean for Syani if that really does happen. He gulped "I.... You... aren`t actually thinking about it?....are you?" he asks with a dry voice.
And then Syani looked up into his eyes again. He couldn`t actually say what kind of relation "like a lot" is. But one thing he knew pretty well. While Syani was watching him, her look made him feel like he was torn apart from the inside. All he could do was to turn away from her to avoid these eyes of her.

Hanging her head low again after Roy turned away, her golden eyes stared at her crossed legs, hearing Roy's almost downhearted voice made Syani want to bite her own tongue, "I...try not to think about it... But I just...feel so WEAK when he's near... I don't know, I'm so confused!"
With her palms on her face, Syani can't believe she just half-yelled right there. Blinking through the gaps of her fingers, she lifted her face up and quickly apologized.
"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't bring this up! I'm such a bad friend! I'm supposed to listen to you, and comfort you, and help you in any way I can...! But look at me, I'm drowning in my sorrows and confusion...and I just hurt you! ...Roy, I'm really truly sorry about my selfishness. Please forgive me..."

It took a while until Roy gained his voice again. Then he said "No..... you don`t have to apologize.... As you know I am also your friend, and when something bothers you than it`s my duty to help you in any way I can... thats what friends are for. And you aren`t hurting me with your words..." he took a deep breath and then he turned his head to her so that he could look her in the eyes "...the truth is... that I... like you a lot too.... and no matter of what you are afraid... there is one thing you should never forget..." then he reached out his arms and embraced her gently.
Then while Syani was resting in his arms he started to sing with a low voice:

Syani listened to his every word as he said she didn't have to apologize...and when Roy turned to face her in the eyes, admitting that he likes her a lot, all she was able to do is to gaze at him with wide eyes, completely shocked...
She didn't expect that at all. And before she knew it, that feeling hits her again, that warm growing emotion she can't detect what it's called. Before the half-vampire was able to react, she saw Roy leaned in closer and embraced her warmly.
Her shoulders tightened a bit as her breath stopped short. Her eyes are still wide over his shoulder, almost watery, and sensing that Roy wasn't planning on letting go just yet, Syani slowly relaxes her muscles and rests her whole body in his arms, her chin on his shoulder...
He started singing gently after that, as Syani closes her eyes tight, touched by his meaningful phrases. When he's nearing the end, Syani can't help but to hug him tightly, burying her face in his shoulder, trying hard not to cry.
"Roy..... I.... Thank you..."

Both sat there on the bench with their arms embracing each other. Roy hold her tight, not wanting that moment ever to end. He felt this feeling in his chest from before growing even stronger. At that point he knew that it could not be caused by Syanis potion she gave him at the Creepy Steeple. But what is it then? Is it.... love.. ? As this thought went through his mind all of the sudden there was something else. The thought from earlier. That feeling that nearly torn him apart when Syani looked him in his eyes. He closed his eyes and couldn`t prevent a tear running down his cheek.. he was glad that Syani couldn`t see it.
He was still embracing her and then he said with a low and almost shivering voice "But your heart already belongs to Kaekeru....doesn`t it?"

Syani...has never felt this much burden in her shoulders, guilt is just way too low to describe it. She knows her choice to be with Kaekeru could make a difference, and she had said to herself to prepare for the worst that could happen...but she didn't see this coming...at all. Apologizing isn't going to help either...so the half-vampire didn't know what to do at all to help. She just stayed there, and let him hold her tightly...
When she heard his shivering voice about Kaekeru, she continued to hug him, only tighter, rather staying silent than replying him, in fear she might hurt him again... But she knows one thing for sure; at least she won't destroy Roy's future...

When Syani didn`t reply anything Roy already knew her answer. He was already prepared for it but still it was hard to accept. He didn`t try to think about it.. at least not at the moment. He was holding Syani tight not saying anything when he felt that Syani hugged him even tighter. He just sat there in her arms, and the only thing that revealed his inner feelings were the tears that ran down his face...

Taking a deep breath, Syani tried to calm herself from crying, as even releasing a few drops of tears could make her eyes well up and she might not stop crying for days...
"Roy... Please listen," she's glad she managed to say that with a calm tone, "I want you to know, that whatever happens, I won't let ANYBODY break our friendship... Not even Kaekeru."
Clutching his shirt a bit, Syani tries hard to hold her tears that already well up in her eyes, "Please... I don't want love to destroy our friendship... You're the first human guy that ever cares for me, and I'm not ready to loose you just yet!"

Roy listened to her words which were like a cure for the broken parts inside of him. Her warm words were slowly restores him from the inside until he finally also gained his voice again. "Thank you...." he whispered to her with a sniff. And then Roy realized how important he was for Syani, even when she doesn`t loves him. "I don`t want to loose you either.... whatever will happen, this will never change." He sniffed again, and tried to calm himself down not wanting his voice to shiver anymore. "Whenever you will need a friend... then please remember that I will always be there for you." And with these words he lowered his arms and leaned a bit backwards so that he was facing Syani "Never forget about it."

Syani lifted a smile as she placed his advice neatly in her heart, hoping it will stay there if she turns into more of a vampire than a human. She just hopes she's still humane if that happens, the word humane is based on human after all...
"I won't," Syani smiled at him as he pulled back and faces her, "As long as I'm in control of myself, I won't forget."
Gently placing her hands on Roy's cheeks, she suddenly gives a quick kiss on his nose, "You....are an extremely special dude. If no other girls fall for you, then I don't know what this world is coming into."

As long as I`m in control of myself.... and what will happen if she really becomes a full vampire... ?
Roy tried not to think about it. And then just at the moment Syani placed her kiss on his nose it lifted a slight smile on Roys face.
"Heh... you said that very well." he sniffed and wiped his face dry with his sleeve. "But what if I don`t want anybody else to fall for me? If a knight falls for his princess then thats it.... but lets not argue about it" he added quickly and tried to smile for the first time in a while.

While Roy was wiping his face dry, Syani's eyebrows wrinkled a bit. She wanted to say something, but Roy already beats her to it about the knight and his princess info, "What? ...Dude--"
And before she can argue about it, Roy beats her to it again about the last part on not arguing about it. Syani sweatdropped at that, "Okay, fine, I won't squabble about it..." she fretted, wiping a tear stain he missed with her thumb, "But believe me, you will meet the right girl someday, BETTER than me, THAT I can guarantee. Just wait for her to enter your heart, and use your charm! Heck, I don't mind if you want to start practicing your lines to me, I'll help you in any way I can."

Roy opened his mouth to say something but stopped right away. After a pause he said "You know.... I could argue with you about what you just said too!" and started to laugh. It was a happy laugh. "But I don`t think it would be a good idea" he smiled at her. Then he stood up "Would you like to go for a little walk with me? I am sure that the garden has a lot more beautiful places besides this one"

Hearing his first sentence, Syani laughed instantly, and realized he's laughing too, which made her grinned very wide, 'Okay, that's a start for cheering him up...!'
Eyeing him as he stood up, Syani nodded. As she's sitting with her legs crossed on the bench, the half-vampire stood up on that bench, stretching her arms, "Sure!"
Hopping off that bench and landed right beside Roy, Syani smiled up at him, "Let's go!"

Roy was walking with her pass the flowerbeds and in the direction of the trees. This was but one of the many ways you could choose at this point. The lively colour of all kind of flowers was slowly vanishing around them and they stepped into a tunnel which was created by a few trees which leaves had the brightest green Roy ever saw. He didn`t say a word. Words wouldn`t fit the situation, thats what he thought. So he just enjoys walking next to Syani and exploring the garden with her. They stepped through the tunnel and at the point where the green was revolving them comlpetly Roy was so excited about what would come next that he almost forgot his sorrow from earlier. But then he got smashed back to earth and directly into his sorrows again as they left the coverage of the trees and both stood in front of an endless seeming bed of roses...
